Investigation help with fire claimsBefore an insurance assessor and/or adjuster is appointed on a claim, we can assist you − The Factual Group's trained scene examiners and investigators specialise in evaluating the risk. After a fire occurs and whilst it is still smouldering, we can carry out a preliminary scene examination and determine in all likelihood how the fire occurred. Some of the typical concerns will include: - How did the fire start?
- Was it accidental?
- Was it deliberate?
- Is it suspicious?
- Should you pay the claim?
- Is there any likelihood of a recovery?
We formally interview the Insured, witnesses and third parties and present a report with our findings. Our report will allow you to make a considered claim decision in every matter. In many cases, our experts can establish the means, motive and opportunity in fraudulent matters. If our findings were inconclusive, and we feel that further investigations are necessary, we will recommend that a forensic examiner be appointed to examine the scene in detail, take samples and provide a separate independent report to present in court.
